This semester’s Buddy Program has officially started!

Like every semester we, AEGEE-Dresden e.V., organize the Buddy Program Dresden to provide support to first year international, inbound exchange, and newcomer students to the City of Dresden. With this we sustain a long tradition, as we continue what we started as Linkpartner Programm back in 2001 as one of the first International Buddy Programs in Germany. This semester we matched some 200+ Buddies, that are pairs of each an international and a local student. Most of them enrolled at TU Dresden.

Many of the Buddies already sent feedback about their first meetings, e.g. Internationals complimenting their local Buddies for their warm-hearted welcomes and Locals for matching them with nice Internationals. We even got an email giving us kudos for our good planning. Thank you all!

As always we invited all our Buddy Program’s participant to a first Get Together. This time we took them on a hike to Sächsische Schweiz. We provided infrastructure and guidance, our participants brought internationality and curiosity. They had a nice trip in the mountains and we could observe the first steps in bringing new strong bonds to life between Internationals and people from Dresden. We are happy to see this happening again (-:
